Data Privacy

University of the East Alumni Association Inc. (UEAAI) respects your right to privacy and is committed to protect the confidentiality  of your personal information. UEAAI is bound to comply with Republic Act 10173 or otherwise known as Data Privacy Act of 2012, its implementing Rules and Regulations and relevant issuances of the National Privacy Commission.

UEAAI collects, processes and stores personal data of all registering and participating alumni and guests for its homecoming/reunion events when they enter in this website, provided that they have given their express consent.

  1. Collection of Personal Data
    The Google Form shall be edited in such a way that it initially qualifies the registrants as an alumnus or a guest. Accordingly, appropriate data shall be collected. The current form is organized in a way that Name, Degree, Year Graduated, etc. are collected before asking the type of attendee. Guests who are not alumni shall only provide Name, Email Address and Work Affiliation (Optional).
    • UEAAI collects the following information through an online register form:
      • Alumni
        1. First name
        2. Last name
        3. Email address
        4. Mobile number/s
        5. Batch year
        6. College
        7. Course
        8. Work Affiliation (Optional)
      • Guests
        1. First name
        2. Last name
        3. Email Address
        4. Work Affiliation (Optional)
    • Proof of payment which contains personal information is also collected in this website.
    • The homecoming/reunion event shall be recorded. Thus, picture, audio, video, and chat conversations of the participants will be recorded. These may be used as materials for future homecoming/reunion events published/posted in various media.
  2. Use and Processing of Personal Data
    UEAAI shall use and process the personal data collected for the purpose of managing the homecoming/reunion events. All the information UEAAI collects shall form part of its database which shall be used for statistical and reportorial purposes.
  3. Sharing of Personal Data
    UEAAI may share personal data of registrants between and among its partners or affiliated organizations for, who need access to such information to carry out work. If and when it becomes necessary, a data sharing agreement shall cover any sharing of data only between them and UEAAI. The latter may also share information in accordance with any order from any relevant government agency as provided by law.
  4. Storage and Protection of Personal Data
    UEAAI shall protect the personal data it has collected and processed by limiting access to personnel who shall have a legitimate interest in them. Similarly, passwords shall be setup for the files to add another layer of protection.
  5. Use of Cookies
    Visiting this website shall encounter the use of Cookie (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to their computer’s hard drive through their Web browser (if they allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize their browser and capture and remember certain information.) This website also uses cookies whether such may make this website experience more efficiently or either way, may not function properly. They have the options to warn their computer each time cookie is being sent or just turn off it through their browser settings.
  6. Rights under the Data Privacy Act
    Data subjects have the following rights under the Data Privacy Act:
    • The right to be informed of the collection and processing of personal data, the purpose for which they will be processed, among others. Hence, are required to read this privacy policy before giving consent to the collection and processing of personal data.
    • They have the right to object to the processing of your personal data. They will be given an option or opportunity to withhold their consent to the processing of their personal data whenever UEAAI communicates and have the right to have reasonable access to their personal data
    • They have the right to rectify or correct any inaccuracy or error, and to suspend, withdraw or order the blocking, removal or destruction of their personal data in accordance with the requirements of the Data Privacy Act.
    • They have the right to obtain a copy of their in an electronic or any structured format by informing UEAAI.
    • They have the right to be indemnified if they incur damages due to inaccurate, incomplete, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of their personal data.

Other Details

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
